It is almost time for back to school shopping! Each year the kids get their shopping list of needed school supplies that always includes tissues. 2|42 has been asked to collect 2000 small pocket tissue packs, for the LESA backpack giveaway. The Brighton Campus will be collecting new tissue boxes, during the 2 church services on Sunday, August 8th.
The Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESA) will be holding its 9th annual “Backpacks for Kids” project on August 19, 2010. The goal of this project is to provide Livingston County students whose families are experiencing financial difficulties with basic school supplies at no cost.
Last year 1600 Livingston County students received backpacks filled with basic school supplies. This year LESA is hoping to giveaway 2,000 free backpacks. The distribution will be at the location listed below.

Andrea Gosselin attends 2|42 and was recently baptized. She is currently participating in The World Race, which is a Christian mission trip that travels to 11 countries in 11 months. Participants live out of a backpack, survive on a limited budget, and find themselves in situations, where faith is the only reality to choose from. In partnering with existing missionaries and ministries, World Racers develop relationships with the “least of these”, and through acts of service, they witness communities and nations transformed all over the world. The team will be caring for orphans, feeding the poor, spending time with girls in the sex trade, while trying to show them a new way of life; planting and building churches; teaching English and HIV/AIDS education, running sports camps, working in the slums, evangelizing and whatever else God may lead them to do.
Andrea said, “this is going to be one of the best, most life changing, challenging, uncomfortable and amazing years of my life. This will shape who I am.” She welcomes your prayer and support. You can follow her journey on her blog.
God is so much bigger than us. He is mysterious and beyond us.
The life of every human is full of questions about God, his creation and the salvation offered by Jesus. We’ll take on some of the bigger questions in our series, Frequently Asked Questions. But we know there are so many more questions that we as a community should struggle with.
So if you have questions about theology, homosexuality, biblical authority, the end times, Calvinism, evolution or anything else – here’s your chance to ask. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we are passionate about pursuing truth with you.
Join us on Sunday night, July 25th at the 2|42 Offices & Training Center at 7:00 pm for a Night of Questions. Come ask your questions and be a part of the conversation.
