Cliche – Believe in Yourself

We accept concepts that are popular as truth

True or False~
We only use 10% of our brain

True or False~
You can catch a cold by getting cold

True or False~
Sugar makes kids hyperactive

True or False~
Left brain people are more logical, right brain are more creative

We accept concepts that are popular as truth
We quickly accept concepts that sound good

Not everything that sounds good is truth and not all truth sounds good

Believe in yourself
Believe in yourself
You can do it
You can do anything you put your mind too
You are stronger than you know

Proverbs 28:26
Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

John 15:1-6
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes  so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Humble yourself before God daily

I don’t understand, but I know what God’s Word says

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I trust God
I don’t have the strength or the ability, but I have God’s Spirit inside me

Grant is our resident farmboy. He grew up in the cornfields of northwest Nebraska. He spent his early days living far from God. As Grant says, "I gave God the middle finger and didn't really care about faith at all." As a young man, he became convinced that God was real. He gave his life to Jesus and experienced God's amazing grace that previously made no sense to him. After experiencing that grace, Grant felt God calling him to teach the message of the gospel. Over the past 20 years, he has been preaching and teaching. Grant, his wife, Bethany, and their four children moved to Michigan in 2011, and he joined the 2|42 team in 2019. Grant is always good for a laugh, but more importantly, he explains biblical concepts in ways anyone can understand.
