Nothing is more exciting to me than a young leader. The Life Bridge youth group has been raising money to help build churches in India. Mostly this has been through offerings at Sunday night Encounter meeting. Megan, a teen in our student ministry, realized these churches weren’t going to get built off of the discretionary spending of teenagers. She wanted to go big. All on her own she organized a simple bake sale. She organized with the Life Bridge cafe leader, filled out publication request, organized volunteers and recruited cooks.
Megan went beyond the challenge, thought outside the box and took the initiative to get it done. She’s a leader and she led. All in all, she raised $800 to help an organization, on the other side of the world, introduce people she will never meet to Jesus!
If a teenage girl with limited experience and resources can make something like this happen, what could you accomplish? Without church leaders giving you all the answers or organization how could you go beyond yourself and reach people with the love of God?
