God's Will for Dummies

What is God’s “will” for my life?

Thats the big question.

  • Is it good to take this job?
  • D0 I marry him?
  • Should we have more kids?
  • Move?

When faced with a fork in the road, we usually defer to God. Most everyone who has faith believes God is has some greater plan for their lives. However, most all of us have gotten to a place where we feel lost. The path, that we thought was God’s plan, just sort of ended. We pray, but God doesn’t seem to answer. We have this nagging sense that we aren’t where we need to be, but we don’t know how to figure it out.

What we want

It wasn’t hard for Moses to figure out what God’s plan was, he spoke to him through a burning bush. We want a burning bush experience.  If God would just give me a sign, if he would just tell me, then I wouldn’t waste my time on anything else.

What you need to know

Understanding God’s will is actually profoundly simple. The problem is, we are asking the wrong questions.  In this two part series we will give you the right questions. The tools to know what “God’s Will” means and the confidence to know your following it.

Grant is our resident farmboy. He grew up in the cornfields of northwest Nebraska. He spent his early days living far from God. As Grant says, "I gave God the middle finger and didn't really care about faith at all." As a young man, he became convinced that God was real. He gave his life to Jesus and experienced God's amazing grace that previously made no sense to him. After experiencing that grace, Grant felt God calling him to teach the message of the gospel. Over the past 20 years, he has been preaching and teaching. Grant, his wife, Bethany, and their four children moved to Michigan in 2011, and he joined the 2|42 team in 2019. Grant is always good for a laugh, but more importantly, he explains biblical concepts in ways anyone can understand.
