Greater Than

GreaterThan
In a world driven by self indulgence, one-upmanship and selfies, the New Testament offers an alternative. A new way of approaching life that seems counter intuitive and very few people ever accept. We are scared of going down this path because we feel we would have to surrender truly enjoying our own life in order to give ourselves to this cause. Yet, paradoxically, this very idea holds the key to the only real sense of fulfillment that can be found on earth. The heart of the deepest teaching in scripture is crystallized in Philippians 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

This is not a concept written as a side note in the margins. This is the passionate heartbeat of God. What would happen if you gave yourself fully to this way of life? If you genuinely considered everyone GREATER THAN yourself and your life embodied this:

You >  Me

As a Church

During this new series, we want to personally challenge you to live out this kind of lifestyle.  This is also a significant challenge for Life Bridge!  It’s time for  us to grow up and mature as a church . God has done incredible things through our friends and families at Life Bridge, but there still remains a tremendous need in our own local communities and around the world. With specific vision, we want to challenge everyone attending Life Bridge to consider the people of this world greater than themselves.

Grant was our resident farmboy. He grew up in the cornfields of northwest Nebraska. He spent his early days living far from God. As Grant says, "I gave God the middle finger and didn't really care about faith at all." As a young man, he became convinced that God was real. He gave his life to Jesus and experienced God's amazing grace that previously made no sense to him. After experiencing that grace, Grant felt God calling him to teach the message of the gospel. Over the past 20 years, he has been preaching and teaching. Grant, his wife, Bethany, and their four children moved to Michigan in 2011, and he joined the 2|42 team in 2019. Grant is always good for a laugh, but more importantly, he explains biblical concepts in ways anyone can understand. We wish Grant and his family all the best as they start their new ministry adventures in Colorado in summer 2023.
