Serve Fest | Monroe
Every Sunday we close out our service with a simple but powerful commission: Go+Be the church where you live, work, and play. Serve Fest is an opportunity to help our church family live out our mission. Our goals for these service projects are to Go+Be light in the world around us, to bring hope to those who need it, to foster community in our church, to introduce our small groups to future potential non-profit partnerships for ongoing serving, and to provide an opportunity for people to get connected to our church.
How can you join in? Mark your calendars for the dates below. RSVP for the events you can join, invite your small group to join you, and invite someone who is not connected to a church to simply come and do some good with you.

MAY | Cleaning Veteran’s Headstones at Roselawn Cemetery
When? Saturday, May 27 | 10am
Where? Roselawn Cemetery (13200 S Dixie Hwy, La Salle)
This ServeFest is just in time for memorial day. Our hope is to clean as many headstones as possible to honor those who have lost their lives.
Note: There is the potential for a funeral to happen on this Saturday. You never know what could happen between now and then. We will keep you all informed if this ends up being cancelled by the cemetery director.
JUNE | Outdoor Olympics at Wellsprings Nursing Home
When? Saturday, June 17 | 10am
Where? Wellsprings Nursing Home (1236 S Monroe St, Monroe)
This ServeFest is taking us into the Wellspring Nursing Home community of amazing seniors. They would love for us to help host an outdoor olympics for them. Time to break out the pole vault!
Note: If weather disrupts these plans, we will be moving it to June 17th
JULY | Painting Non-Profit(s)
When? Saturday, July 15 | 10am
Where? Paula’s House (3580 S Custer Rd, Monroe Twp)
This ServeFest requires you to get your paint on! Our biggest project will be taking us to Paula’s House to paint their space. Paint and tools supplied–but if you want to bring your own brushes/rollers, that would be amazing.
Note: If we have a lot of sign ups, two more non-profits could use help in smaller spaces (Selah’s Center of Hope, Philadelphia House)
AUGUST | River Raisin Clean-Up
When? Saturday, Aug 12 | 10am
Where? S. Mary’s Park (111 W Elm Ave, Monroe)
This ServeFest is a way to honor our God-given environment, by helping clean up the River Raisin in Monroe. We will be cleaning up the banks of the river, and if you want to, get into the river itself to clean!
We will be meeting at St. Mary’s Park to initiate this serve.
