2|42, what an incredible journey we’ve shared throughout 2024, reading through God’s Word together! As we close this chapter of our “Read the Bible with Me” challenge, I’m filled with joy reflecting on how God’s Word has transformed our community.

Remember those early January mornings when we first committed to this daily practice? Now, 365 days later, we’ve journeyed from Genesis to Revelation, experiencing the full narrative of God’s love story with humanity. Through ancient histories, poetic psalms, prophetic visions, and the life-changing accounts of Jesus and the early church, we’ve encountered God’s faithfulness on every page.

Many of you have shared how this journey has impacted your daily lives. You’ve discovered that spending time in Scripture isn’t just about checking off a reading plan – it’s about developing an unshakeable foundation for life.  I’ve heard countless stories of how God’s Word provided exactly what you needed during challenging moments: peace during uncertainty, wisdom for difficult decisions, and hope when circumstances seemed hopeless.

The beautiful thing about God’s Word is that it’s not just ancient text – it’s alive and active, speaking directly into our lives. Whether you were reading about David’s struggles with anxiety in the Psalms, Paul’s teachings about unity in the church, or Jesus’s parables about kingdom living, you’ve experienced how remarkably relevant these truths remain today.

This daily habit you’ve cultivated is more valuable than gold. Research consistently shows that regular Bible reading correlates with increased peace, better mental health, and stronger resilience in facing life’s challenges. But more importantly, it deepens our relationship with God and transforms us from the inside out. As Hebrews 4:12 reminds us, “The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword… it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Some days were harder than others. Maybe you fell behind sometimes or struggled to understand certain passages. That’s okay – what matters is that you persevered and remained committed to engaging with God’s Word. Every minute spent reading Scripture has been an investment in your spiritual growth.

As we look ahead to 2025, I’m excited to announce our new reading plan accompanying our upcoming series I Declare, starting January 5th. It’s perfectly timed as we begin a new year, allowing us to align our hearts with God’s truth and promises.

If you found this year’s reading challenge meaningful, I encourage you to continue the habit you’ve established. If you’re new to our church family or haven’t joined us in daily Bible reading yet, the “I Declare” series offers a perfect opportunity to start. Remember, it’s not about perfection – it’s about consistently showing up to meet with God through His Word.

The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). As we’ve experienced this year, regular engagement with God’s Word equips us for every good work He has prepared for us.

Let’s celebrate what God has done in our midst through this reading challenge. Every verse read, every truth discovered, and every moment spent in His presence has been transformative. As we step into 2025, may we continue to hunger for God’s Word, allowing it to shape our thoughts, guide our decisions, and deepen our faith.

Thank you for journeying together through Scripture this year. I’m proud of your commitment and excited to see how God will continue to work through our community as we stay rooted in His Word.

Looking forward to diving into I Declare with you all!
