Shameless - Feature Image

We all feel or have felt shame. It’s really one of the worst things a human can experience.  It cuts deeper than any other feeling. Shame strikes us at our core. Shame keeps us from feeling like we can be used by God. The ache that it causes keeps us from feeling worthy and that is something we just can’t bear.

So, we have two options.

  1. Become Shameless – We decide to just accept our ugly identity. Instead of hiding from our guilt we justify it. We stay away from people who remind us of the shame and we very intentionally develop relationships with people who make us feel good about it. This escape root gives momentary relief but is a dead end. It only leaves us with a double dose of that same old disgusting feeling.
  2. Become Shame(less) – Discover God’s plan to take away your shame. God allows us to feel shame for a reason, but once that purpose has been served he does not want us to be held captive by it. He wants to free us from our prison of shame.

Stop being imprisoned by your shame. Join us for this two part teaching series as we learn to ditch the shame and allow God to work in our lives.

Grant is our resident farmboy. He grew up in the cornfields of northwest Nebraska. He spent his early days living far from God. As Grant says, "I gave God the middle finger and didn't really care about faith at all." As a young man, he became convinced that God was real. He gave his life to Jesus and experienced God's amazing grace that previously made no sense to him. After experiencing that grace, Grant felt God calling him to teach the message of the gospel. Over the past 20 years, he has been preaching and teaching. Grant, his wife, Bethany, and their four children moved to Michigan in 2011, and he joined the 2|42 team in 2019. Grant is always good for a laugh, but more importantly, he explains biblical concepts in ways anyone can understand.
