We make memories and decisions and learn on Earth. But we are also not of the world. There’s that tension between the two, we manage it so we don’t have to deal with negative consequences if we go too far on either side. We aren’t of the world because when we accept Christ we are adopted as the sons and daughters of God. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1|4-5) So we aren’t removed from the world, but changed and committed to a new way of living through Jesus. There’s the worldview determined by people. The chill go with the flow attitude and the way people want us to act. Sometimes we get caught up in what everyone else is doing and we get distracted by God’s plan. But we’re meant to be committing to a different way of living, we’re changed by God because we’re not of the world.
