Raise them Up

Raising Kids to Know God

At 2|42, we prioritize kids and we are for your family. That means we’re for your kids but also you as a parent. To better serve the families in our community, we’ve reworked our child dedication experience to be a resource for the whole family, which includes expecting parents, because it’s never too early to start. Raise Them Up will help you as a parent identify the type of character you want to build into your child, how you can model this through your own next steps with God, and who you can surround yourself with to be successful. The end goal: we want to raise our kids up to know and love God! It all culminates with a Parent Commitment Ceremony where your invited friends and family will join you in committing to be intentional in your kids’ lives.

What?

This is a next step for parents who want to publicly commit to raising their children to know and love God with the hope that they will one day choose Jesus for themselves. This will include a class experience that will offer a time of reflection and dreaming for your child and their spiritual journey and will conclude with a celebration ceremony.

Why?

We believe in the immense potential of young minds and hearts to embrace faith in Jesus. 2|42 Kids embraces the opportunity in partnership with parents to guide children toward a spiritual path at an early age – when they are most receptive – laying the foundation for a lifetime of positive impact and kingdom – building.

FAQs

What is Raise Them Up?
Whether you are pregnant with your very first little one, or you just welcomed them to the world, or are a pro with your fifth, we as parents want to be intentional in the way we raise up our children. This class will help you as a parent identify the type of character you want to build into your child, how you can model this through your own next steps with God, and who you can surround yourself with to be successful. The end goal is to raise our kids to know and love God!

What does the parent class look like?
During our time together, we will focus on what it means to raise your child in a Biblical home. We will go over some practice tips and resources to help you as we walk alongside you as you disciple your children.

What does the celebration ceremony look like?
During the Ceremony, we invite you, your family, and friends to a time of celebrating your decision to raise your children to know and love God. We will serve light refreshments, have a moment of prayer, and words from one of our pastors to encourage you and your guests to pour into your child as you raise them up.

How old should a child be for the dedication ceremony?
This ceremony is for kids from birth through age 5.
